In General: We offer a variety of selling formats to embrace the greatest number of sellers: tiny, small, medium or large; choose every show, some shows, or just one show. We are driven to deliver the most convenient, comfortable and budget friendly selling venue for you anywhere. If you've been at our shows before, you pretty much know how it works. But if you are new, we'll help you get up to speed, quickly and comfortably. Relevancy is the Rule: Our shows are "juried." On the whole, products must be related to model railroading, or real railroading, or railroading in general. That covers a lot of territory: locos, cars, scenery, electronics, tools and supplies, art, maps, books, even clothing items or mugs, mementos and souvenirs with a railroad theme. It is easier to say what is NOT a good fit: doll fancy, pets and animals, fashion, home and garden, "carnival" type items. If in doubt - just ask! Hours of Operation: Shows are open to the public on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Show attendees have a reasonable expectation that the published hours of operation are in fact the actual hours - that's what the public -your potential buyers- is paying for. Therefore, vendors should honor these hours of operation. We do understand, and make reasonable allowance for, some discrete advance packing prior to the Sunday departure. That said, nothing should be removed from the show prior to closing, and you should be ready to do business right up to the last minute. Be aware of the "Sunday bump," the tendency for a significant sale opportunity to occur near the last minute of the last hour of the last day. Set-Up: Here's when you can move in and set-up:
Get In, Get Out: For a speedy orderly set-up, it is important to off-load your goods at your tables quickly, and then promptly move your vehicle away from the building and release any of the show cargo carts you may be using. THEN walk back into the show and arrange your inventory. Draping: New vendors may be unaware of the requirement to drape (cover) your merchandise at closing time. Anything from old sheets to plastic picnic table covers will do the job. Party stores, "Dollar" Stores and similar places are a good source of cheap covers. If you forget your table covers, just let us know, and we'll give you some to use. Details, Details, Details! More information, helpful suggestions, and pricing is available from the links you'll find at left under "Information for Sellers." We direct your attention especially to "Everything you need to know...." And of course, you may call us at 301-221-7996, or email to jsgeare@gsmts.com. |
