The Craftsman Courtyard will have its own special place at the
October 26 & 27 show: 50 tables and a special clinic area. These vendors produce built up models and kits and details which are like nothing you'll get from the usual suspects with a big advertising budget. No, they operate from basements and workrooms and small spaces, creating models based on real-world examples or imaginary structures which closely resemble the same. They work from photos and blueprints of the real thing, to create, in miniature, structures which really, really exist, or at least did at some time. Railroad, mercantile, institutional and habitational scenarios which make layouts unique and alive. |

Kits Are Easier to Assemble Than Ever: Although these
masterpieces reflect the most scrupulous attention to detail, the
craftsman who produce them have manufactured such exact parts and
have written such clear diagrams and instructions you should have
few problems building the models. Pricing May Pleasantly Surprise You: Why? Because advances in production technology, such as laser-cutting, have enabled the producers to assemble their structures more quickly and more accurately than ever before. Even though these craftsmen work in small batches, production economies still apply. Plenty of Help, on Skill Level and Budget: Talk to these skilled craftsman, one-on-one. If you are new to the hobby and now ready to venture beyond the plastic models everyone else builds, they will help you select projects most suitable to your skill level and budget.
